The Squash Official (TSO)
October 2008 Edition
The Squash Official is now available ... and it will be our first-ever digital-only edition - the paper version having gone Paleolithic. (We want to make it clear that no animals were harmed in the preparation of this edition.) Technical difficulties explain the late release of this TSO - but it's worth the wait.
Since the summer of 1993, the TSO has also issued a paper version, and only now are we leaving that behind. This edition is the first to purely exist in the ethernet - just an electronic signal - just 0's & 1's to your machine.

There are a number of possible explanations for each decision (e.g. – the No Let has seven possible explanations!) – so it would be foolhardy to advance any explanation other than “This is the consensus”...
THE FORUM: DEALING WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON TIMING
For ‘crossing the flight’ situations, Guideline 9 instructs the Referee to “consider the situation at the time the player could have hit the ball”. If a player asks when the ball is, for example, obviously too high, is a ‘No Let’ therefore out of the question since, according to the advice, the Referee must now extrapolate the flight of the ball to a couple of seconds later?...
THE ‘HYPOCRATIC’ OATH by Barry Mano
No, the word isn’t misspelled, as you will see. Though not specific to officiating Squash, you might find the message, from the October 2008 Referee Magazine, to be a useful caution in your dealings with players and other non-officials. (ED)...
