Get to Know ... McWil Courtwall E-mail

The Players Cup Championship has been generously supported by a number of sponsors.  Please join us as we Get to Know the tournament Title Sponsor .... McWil Courtwall.

McWil Courtwall was established in 1995 by David Carr in Washington DC to take advantage of Carr’s experience and expertise in the area of squash generally and court construction specifically. The following year a partnership was rekindled as Carr successfully encouraged Wolfgang Denk of Vienna, Austria to join McWil Courtwall. Today the company operates worldwide, with Carr and Denk dividing responsibility on a geographic basis.

To date the company has built courts in Europe, North America, South America, Africa and Asia. Company philosophy is to work with the client to maximize the funds invested in any squash project. While most squash courts are built with high-density composite panel playwalls, McWil also builds courts of plaster, wood and glass. Thus the client never has to worry about being sold on any one material if there are reasons to consider others.

In 2004, having built a number of permanent all-glass squash courts, McWil Courtwall designed and built a portable glass court. This court was first used in Bermuda in 2004 and was eventually used two dozen times in the next three years before it was sold and a new model built. This new court is used for major events in North America, and sister courts are owned by Eventis in the UK and by Maku Sports in Nigeria and used for events in their respective areas.

With over 25 years experience each with portable squash courts, Denk and Carr easily offer the world’s most experienced team when it comes to moveable glass courts.

The key to McWil’s success with the portable court in North America is a dedicated installation crew and 100% control of logistics. McWil Courtwall’s court travels in company-owned truck and trailer, the insides of which are custom-fitted to hold the court materials and to allow them to be unloaded and loaded quickly and efficiently. This is critical to the promoter, as event sites are typically costly and every day, if not every hour, counts.
