Chris Walker joins European Squash Academy Team E-mail

WorldWide Sport Promotions has added Chris Walker to their team of European Squash Academy champions.

Chris Walker.jpgWalker is a former PSA top 5 player and captained the English squash team who won the World Team Championships in 1997. Walker played on the men’s pro tour for nearly 20 years and is now an outstanding coach. The European Squash Academy is an initiative to let (American) kids play and train with world-class athletes and coaches.

Chris Walker: "I am delighted to be involved with World Wide Sports promotions for the second consecutive year. I believe that we offer the best Squash tour and training experience on the market. We have a phenomenal, and un-matched, group of coaches and professional players as our resource for the kids to access and learn from during their trip. With our collective experience we have been able to improve and refine what we have on offer after last year and, I am sure, the kids will have a ball!!"

Walker, the US Team men's coach is joining other big names in the squash world, who are currently affiliated with the European Squash Academy. Such as, World Champion David Palmer (Aus), World no. 2 & British Open Champion Gregory Gaultier from France, former World Champion Vanessa Atkinson (Netherlands) and her new compatriot Natalie Grinham, the world’s number 2 female players.

Alex Langerhorst, on behalf of Board of Directors of WorldWide Sport Promotions says, "We where shocked to see that there are so many camps out there that lack supervision or don’t even have a solid program. What important is that you give the kids an extraordinary experience on and of the court where there is a balance of working hard, experiencing the culture and making new friends. Our edge is definitely our fine network of the best players and coaches in the game plus we speak the language of the country that we are visiting, we have been there and know the people... "

Tommy Berden, European Squash Academy Head Coach: "The addition of Chris to the team is a great boost for the European Squash Academy - EuroSummerTour 2008. Not only was Chris a great (and very successful) athlete, but he also was a tremendous role model. His professionalism and dedication to the sport are a prime example for every player who aspires to be the best. I am looking forward to working closely with him to make the camp unforgettable for all the participating players."

Meindert Kooistra, the CEO of WorldWide Sport Promotions added, " We are very pleased with Chris Walker joining the squash unit of WorldWide Sport Promotions. Chris had an amazing squash career and is a great coach and an inspiring person. Chris will add major value to our company and we are looking forward to work with him.  We believe in bringing an exclusive and quality product (best trainers and coaches in the world, great accommodations and facilities and more) to our athletes. In the end quality always prevails."

The ‘European Squash Academy – EuroSummerTour 2008’ will take place from June 23rd until July 14th and will take the players to Utrecht, Groningen, Amsterdam, Cologne and Aix en Provence.
