CNN's October edition of "Inside the Middle East" will be hosted by CNN correspondent Brent Sadler.
During the program Alphonso Van Marsh travels to Egypt to meet the world number-one ranked squash player, Amr Shabana.
Poised to become only the fourth player to win four squash world championship titles in the sport's history, Shabana may soon join squash's most elite club. Shabana and others are leading Egypt's steady rise to prominence in a sport dominated by Pakistan since the 1940s.
Egyptian players, including number-four ranked player Ramy Ashour, grew up during the presidency of squash-mad Hosni Mubarak and hold five of the top ten rankings. Egypt appears to have squash-mania, and its top professional players are revolutionising the sport. Alphonso meets up with Chabana, Ashour and some of the Egyptian youth they inspire, ahead of October's World Squash Championships.
'Inside the Middle East' can be seen on Wednesday 1st October at 17:30 GMT. Please check your local listings for channel and times in your area.
