25 Ways to Give Back E-mail

What role has squash played in your life?   Better health ... lifelong friendships ... comraderie ... networking ...

Listed below are a couple ideas for strengthening your Squash Karma?   

Help us add to the list by sending an e-mail or by adding a Comment with your deas or suggestions on ways to "give back" to the sport. 

  

  1. Invite a friend or family member to try squash
  2. Volunteer some time at your club tournament
  3. Make some of your purchasing decisions based in part on the companies that support our sport
  4. Be a paid member of your local squash association.
  5. Organize a fund raising event
  6. Donate a prize for a silent auction fundraiser
  7. Buying a ticket for yourself, friend and/or junior to go watch some quality squash
  8. Send a letter or e-mail with ideas or suggestions to your club, club pro, association
  9. Photocopy materials for your local club or association
  10. Help reduce postage costs - mail materials on behalf of your local club or association
  11. Register for your club or associations e-mail newletter
  12. Spend an hour a month helping your club pro with the juniors
  13. Be a board member on a committee
  14. Attend club and/or association meetings
  15. Be a tournament sponsor or advertiser
  16. Buy extra balls or a racquet and donate it to your local junior program
  17. Donate any old or unused racquets or bags to your local junior program
  18. Buy a package of lessons for someone unable to afford it themselves
  19. Buy advertising in your club newsletter
  20. Buy naming priveleges on a court
  21. Buy naming priveleges on a tin
  22. Remember your favourite squash charity/program/club in your Will.
  23. Be a financial patron junior program, squash development initiative
  24. Send a letter or e-mail of thanks to sponsors who support squash
  25. Send a letter or e-mail asking media outlets, editors, sport directors for more coverage of squash (or thanking for articles)
  26. Participate in any questionnaires, forums, focus groups, committees trying to help our sport

Love the site. My 2 cents: depending upon your business, talents or training, you could provide services or goods at a discount or at cost to your club, association, tournament. Personally my contribution so far consists of drinking lots of beer at the club bar, but will get off my duff and - as you say - give back. its been on my mind for years, 2008 my good intentions will turn to action
