However, for visitors to our website that are unfamiliar with RSS (short for "Really Simple Syndication") is a method websites use to feed headlines to users email or to other websites that want to display content from another site.

How does it work? Well, lets say we write some new articles at Squash360.com and you want to have these articles to be sent to your email automatically or perhaps you want to show our articles on your own web page. Their are several ways to do this but with our site, you have the following choices:

Display our articles in your own web page - Copy the url you see above and enter it into your RSS Reader and enter it into whatever Reader you have and usually works best with dynamic based websites. There are many sites to check out that offers instructions how this is done which will be based on your own site.

Copy the URL above and enter it into your standalone RSS Reader or even email client (some offer this ability) and have our feeds sent to your desktop.

To have our articles sent directly to your email inbox (which is very common), you can enter your email address to subscribe to our feed by entering it into the black box on the page that is displaying our RSS graphic icon, for example, in this page's right column. If you want a feed to show up in Outlook 2007 (part of your Office suite from Microsoft), you can take advantage of it and Outlook's ability to bring RSS in.

How does RSS work in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007?

RSS readers, such as the one built into Office Outlook 2007, allow you to subscribe to RSS Feeds and then read content or follow links for additional information. Whenever you see a link to a feed, or an RSS icon such as the one at the top of this page, just click. Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 will automatically subscribe you to that RSS Feed.

Get started With Outlook RSS

Using Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 to subscribe to an RSS Feed is quick and easy and does not involve a registration process or fee. After you subscribe to an RSS Feed, headlines will appear in your RSS folders. RSS items appear similar to mail messages. When you see a headline that interests you, just click or open the item.

Add an RSS Feed through the Microsoft Office Outlook 2007

  1. On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.
  2. On the RSS Feeds tab, click New.
  3. In the New RSS Feed dialog box, type or press CTRL+V to paste the URL of the RSS Feed. For example, http://www.example.com/feed/main.xml.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Click OK

There are many online and desktop readers and information available - Google Feed 101 so you will want to do a Google search and see what else shows up.
